An open letter from your neighbors

Dear City Council of Peachtree City & Kedron Hills Community Association

The closure of Crabapple Lane has broken our community in half.

Our families contribute much to Peachtree City, a city home to our friends and family. We own businesses in the Kedron Village. We patron shops and restaurants there on a daily basis. Our children find their first job in the Kedron Village, using the golf cart paths to establish their independence. We attend Crabapple Lane, forging friendships between adults and children across the city limits. We even pay $235 annually to use your wonderful golf cart network.

With the road closed, it is hard to justify continuing many of these contributions.

We empathize with the danger posed to Peachtree City families by high speed traffic on Loring Lane. The problem alarms us too.

With no feasibility study conducted, we can't help but question whether speeding cars on Loring Lane truly come from Crabapple Lane. Using speed bumps, bollards, radar, or enforcement, we're confident that we can find a way to keep our community open, keep Loring Lane safe, and keep open a vital exit out of Kedron Hills.

We're eager to work with you on finding a win-win solution to slow down traffic.

The history of the community saddens us.

The City of Tyrone and Crabapple Lane predate Kedron Hills by many years. The construction of Kedron Hills brought new life to our neighborhood: new shopping, dining, and wonderfully kind neighbors, and we welcomed our new friends with open arms.

We're devastated to see Kedron Hills choose to build a barrier between us instead of build a solution with us.

We urge you to consider re-opening Crabapple Lane to both car and golf cart traffic. Thank you.

Sincerely, Two hundred one of your Tyrone neighbors (and sixty-six friends in Peachtree City)
