Lady Chiefs Lacrosse Team Raises Funds For ALS

All year long the Lady Chiefs have been raising awareness and funds for ALS research. They have been inspired by women's assistant coach, Mickey Beard, who is battling ALS and is a constant presence on the team. Their motto, "Left Foot In", is demonstrated by the women's players wearing a red sock on their left foot to show support for Coach Beard and everyone who has ALS. McIntosh Chiefs News and Notes

Gatorade Player of the Year - Wednesday, May 15, 2013

On May 14, 2013 Gatorade announced the Men's Soccer Player of the Year for Georgia to be McIntosh Chief Salomon Lorenzano. Salomon is the first Gatorade Player of the Year to be chosen from McIntosh High School. Salomon has led the Chiefs to a 21-0 record this year and will be playing in state semi-finals vs. Pope on May 15, 2013. Through 21 games Salomon has scored 23 goals and passed for 28 assists. Salomon was the 2012 Fayette County Player of the Year and the MVP for the 2012 Georgia Soccer Coaches Association All-Star Game. Salomon has signed with Georgia State University to play soccer in the fall. Congratulations Salomon!

Congratulations to the McIntosh men who are the 2013 GHSA AAAAA Track and Field State Champions:

Brooks Hardy - Discus throw (3rd place) and shot put (3rd place)

Brad Hort - 1600 m run (State Runner-Up)

Taylor Huntley - 800 m run (State Champion)

Sidney Speir - 3200 m run (State Champion)

Men's Soccer - Wednesday, April 24, 2013

Congratulations to the Chiefs Soccer Team for finishing the 2013 season as the 2013 Region 4-AAAAA Champion and 2013 AAAAA State Champion! The Chiefs went 23-0 this season with 21 shutouts and only allowed 2 goals all season.

Round 1 - defeated Thomas CC 10-0.

Round 2 - defeated Evans 6-0.

Round 3 - defeated Lakeside, DK 6-1.

Round 4 - defeated Pope, 3-0.

State Championship - defeated Houston County, 2-0.

Women's Lacrosse - Wednesday, April 24, 2013

Congratulations to the Lady Chiefs Lacrosse Team for finishing the season as the 2013 Area Champion and 2013 A-AAAAA State Runner-Up!

Round 1 - defeated Wesleyn 18-9.

Round 2 - defeated Kell 11-7.

Round 3 - defeated Northview 10-6.

State Championship - lost to Westminster 15-7.

Men's Golf - Thursday, April 18, 2013

Congratulations to the men's golf team for finishing as the Region Runner-Up. Connor Coffee tied for low-medalist with a 72. The men's team will advance to GHSA State Sectionals on May 6.

The men's golf team competed in GHSA State Sectionals and advanced to the State Tournament at Jekyll Island on May 20, 2013.
